Nigerian comedian and skit creator Mariam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, has formally established her charitable organization, the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative.

Punch states that the foundation is committed to assisting the socially disadvantaged, with a particular emphasis on Taaooma’s hometown of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Mariam Apaokagi Initiative was introduced as part of Taaooma’s courtesy visit to Saliu Mustapha, the senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, at his residence in Ilorin.

During the meeting, Taaooma delivered a presentation about the foundation and reiterated her commitment to enhancing the lives of the less fortunate.

In detailing the foundation’s various initiatives, Taaooma emphasized that the project is her means of giving back to the community. She sought the senator’s cooperation and support for the foundation’s success.

Senator Mustapha commended Taaooma for her remarkable initiative, assuring her of his continuous availability to collaborate.

The legislator, also recognized as the Turaki of Ilorin, commended the skit creator for producing morally grounded content with the potential to counteract the prevalence of drug misuse and other illicit activities.

The senator underscored the significance of vocational education for the youth, highlighting its role in job creation and empowering the next generation.

He advised Taaooma to focus on content that upholds moral principles and contributes to the fight against social vices.
