Nigerian film producer Kunle Afolayan was overjoyed as Anikulapo won the prestigious 2023 AMAA Awards’ best overall film accolade. The African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, unfolded on a Sunday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, and was skillfully hosted by Nancy Isime, Rahama Sadau, and Richard Ato Turkson.
Anikulapo, a project both produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, also secured the award for best achievement in production design. In a touching tribute, the filmmaker dedicated this honor to the late Pat Nebo.
On Monday, the 49-year-old extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees and winners via an Instagram post, expressing his gratitude and immense pride.
