The award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, has made his first Instagram post since the passing of his mother.
Wizkid’s mother, Mrs. Jane Balogun, tragically passed away on August 18, 2023. In a touching tribute, Wizkid demonstrated the depth of his affection for his mother by changing his Instagram profile picture to one of his late mother.
On October 11, 2023, Wizkid and his sisters organized a candlelight procession in memory of their late mother. The following day, October 12, 2023, saw wake-keeping services and other funeral ceremonies.
On October 13, 2023, Wizkid hosted a star-studded burial party for his mother, attended by prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Today, October 20, 2023, Wizkid took to his verified Instagram page to convey his final message of love to his late mother. He shared photos, including one of himself holding an umbrella for his father, a picture of his late mother, a photo of him with his sisters and children.
In the caption, Wizkid wrote, “Love you, my everything ❤️ 💔🕊️.”
