Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, is commemorating the posthumous birthday of Davido’s first son, Ifeanyi, whom he shared with Chioma. Ifeanyi tragically passed away at the age of three after drowning on October 31st, 2023, a few days after his third birthday.
Kemi recalled the heartbreaking incident in which Ifeanyi was pronounced dead upon arrival at Evercare Hospital in Lekki. The parents, Davido and Chioma, had left him with his caretakers during a family gathering in Ibadan, and he somehow managed to enter the pool unnoticed.
On what would have been Ifeanyi’s 4th birthday, Kemi reflected on his tragic demise. She also mentioned that the estate in which the incident occurred still denies that he drowned on their premises, and that Ifeanyi was secretly buried.
On October 20th, 2019, Ifeanyi, David Adeleke’s fourth child, would have celebrated his fourth birthday today. Tragically, the child drowned in a swimming pool at his rented Banana Island home on Halloween, October 31, 2022. Despite the incident, the estate continues to deny any drowning occurring on their property. Ifeanyi was quietly laid to rest in an undisclosed location.
Despite the heartbreaking loss of their son, Davido and Chioma found joy in their lives as they welcomed twins earlier this month.
Davido initially hinted at the twins’ birth, describing the week as the best in his life. Later, a video emerged showing Chioma and Davido leaving the hospital with their newborn twins.
At an event, Davido confirmed the news, sharing how he and Chioma were surprised and thrilled by the news. He mentioned how incredible it was that the twins were born in the same month as their late son, Ifeanyi.
Furthermore, investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who also confirmed the rumors, shared details about the twins’ birth. According to her, Chioma gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She explained that Chioma, who had been on bed rest for 90 days, delivered the twins through a cesarean operation (CS) at 38 weeks.
