BBNaija 2022 champion, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has addressed her father’s assertion of having abandoned the family on social media.
It’s worth recalling that Vanguard News had previously released a report featuring statements made by Phyna’s father.
In his statement, Phyna’s father reiterated that he hadn’t seen his eldest daughter, Phyna, ever since she secured the ₦100 million grand prize as the winner of BBNaija’s ‘Level Up’ edition.
In response to her father’s interview where he claimed she hadn’t returned home since winning BBNaija, Phyna accused her father of unfairly involving her.
She became emotional, expressing that this was the first time she had shed tears because her father’s accusation deeply affected her. She also pledged to clarify everything in an Instagram Live session later in the day.
Phyna wrote, “In the history of dragging… this is the first time I cried, and it touched me. Let’s meet later on Instagram Live.”
She added, “Just one ‘No’… and the family begins granting interviews… Nice one, I will not die young.”

Furthermore, Phyna took to her social media platform to criticize Ben Njoku, a reporter for Vanguard, who had reached out to her.
In her defense, the reality star mentioned that she had been inundated with calls and messages from the said reporter and revealed her potential course of action.
Her statement read, “I think it’s time for me to sue this useless Vanguard. They’ve been tormenting me with texts and calls.”
“I mistakenly answered one of the numbers four days ago. As soon as I said hello, the reporter, Ben Njoku from Vanguard, immediately began bombarding me with questions.”
“I simply told him, ‘How can you approach me and start interrogating me?’ Immediately, I ended the call. He promptly texted me, apologizing.”
“Now, you’ve gone back to your corner to claim that your father is crying, and your mother gave birth to a bastard son? Vanguard will crumble.”
Phyna also shared the phone number of the person who had been bothering her from Vanguard and declared, “This particular lawsuit will silence you. You will hear from my lawyer.”
