The mother of the late talented singer Mohbad has decided to share some insights into her son’s concerns before his tragic passing.
During an interview with TVC, the mother of two disclosed that she never revealed her connection to the singer because Mohbad was genuinely concerned for her safety. He feared that if people knew she was his mother, she might be kidnapped or harmed.
Contrary to reports suggesting a distant relationship, she revealed that Mohbad had been quite supportive. He had purchased a new house for her in Ikorodu, which he frequently visited. He also bought her a shop, provided funds for freezers and a generator, and had plans to gift her N5 million before his untimely demise.
She expressed apprehension about returning to her house in Ikorodu and mentioned her intention to rent out the shop.
Regarding Mohbad’s life, she conveyed that her son lived in constant fear and didn’t get to enjoy his life fully. She believed the attacks against him had ceased until he released his EP and was subjected to severe assault.
She recalled accompanying him to the police station on two occasions to file complaints, but no substantial action was taken.
Two days before his passing, Mohbad had implored her to stay with him, but she declined as she wanted to attend church, having missed it for two weeks.
“Two days before his death, he begged me to stay with him, but I refused because I wanted to attend church service, which I had missed for two weeks,” she explained.
