Nigerian acclaimed artist, Davido, delivered a heartfelt speech at the late singer Mohbad’s candlelight procession and tribute event.
The candlelight procession in honor of the 27-year-old musician occurred in Lagos on Thursday, September 21, commencing at 5 PM at Lekki Phase 1 Gate and concluding at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.
Celebrities and fans came out in significant numbers to pay their respects to Mohbad.
Davido, alongside other notable figures who attended the event, expressed his sadness over the untimely passing of the ‘Peace’ singer. He called upon all entertainers, influencers, and businesspeople to join forces in ensuring the well-being of Mohbad’s child, wife, and parents.
In his words, “I’ve personally lost many people in my life, so I understand a lot about life. Besides seeking justice, I implore all entertainers, influencers, and business figures in Nigeria to unite and ensure that his child, wife, and parents receive proper care.”
He paid tribute to Mohbad, expressing his regret that the artist could not witness the overwhelming support he was receiving. Davido pledged to keep Mohbad’s legacy alive and care for his loved ones.
Davido stressed that the candlelight procession was intended to be a peaceful event and urged all attendees to return home safely and without any incidents.
