Today, on September 21, 2023, the police in Ikorodu, Lagos State, carried out the exhumation of the body of the late Nigerian singer, Mohbad.
It’s worth noting that just a few days ago, the Lagos State police command had announced that they hadn’t yet exhumed Mohbad’s body because they were waiting for the completion of necessary paperwork with the state ministry of health to facilitate the inquiry.
Following the exhumation, the remains of the late Mohbad were transported to the hospital, where an autopsy will commence immediately.
Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12 in circumstances surrounded by controversy, and he was laid to rest on the following day, September 13.
In response to the shocking revelations of harassment and assault that emerged after his death, Nigerians called for an autopsy to be conducted.
On Monday, September 19, the Lagos State police command established a 13-man committee to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. This committee is expected to submit its report within two weeks.
