Popular Nigerian superstar, Adekunle Gold, shared the story of how he met his wife, singer Simi, in an interview with Tayo Aina. He revealed that he first met her at Bogobiri, although he had previously sent her a Facebook DM.
When asked about fatherhood, Adekunle Gold expressed that it’s a significant responsibility that he cherishes. He emphasized that raising a daughter is a substantial responsibility, and he sees it as his duty to raise her as a queen, given his family’s importance in his life.
He also talked about how his family is at the center of his happiness and motivation, and that’s why he’s working hard. He wants his daughter to have a different life from the one he had while growing up.
Adekunle Gold humorously mentioned that he’s transitioning from “school fees music” to provide for his family.
Regarding being married to another superstar, Simi, he stated that it’s beautiful because they understand each other’s careers and can make necessary adjustments. He mentioned that Simi was in Lagos working at the moment, but they manage their schedules effectively. Having family members around to help with their daughter, Deja, is also a blessing.
He recalled sliding into Simi’s Facebook DM a long time ago after listening to her songs, particularly one called “Ogaju.” He sent her a funny DM, but she didn’t see it until they met in person at Bogobiri. They started as friends, and eventually, their relationship grew into what it is today.
