The Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Raji, has taken it upon himself to distribute food items to his community as a relief measure in response to the removal of fuel subsidies.
He announced this initiative on his official Instagram page with the following message:
“The beginning of any journey serves as a measure of what lies ahead. It’s undeniable that the removal of fuel subsidies has had a significant impact on our people, and acknowledging this reality is crucial. If we truly aspire to bring about substantial changes in our society, both politically and economically, we must be prepared to make significant sacrifices and remain optimistic even in challenging times.
With this in mind, I have chosen not to let the effects of the subsidy removal overwhelm my people, the residents of IBA TOWN. I urge all capable and well-meaning Nigerians not to leave the responsibility of addressing the current challenges in our society solely to the government but to view it as a collective effort.
I am grateful to the Almighty for granting me the opportunity to make this contribution to the people of my town.
Together, we shall witness the rise of a greater IBA!”
