“This Is B@d”- 28-year-old Lady Dies after she Collapsing during her bridal shower

Rebecca and her fiancé, Abiodun Oluwadamilare, had been eagerly preparing to tie the knot on Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. Tragically, Rebecca passed away at the hospital on Sunday, August 20.

Reports indicate that the 28-year-old graduate of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, was in the midst of celebrating her bridal shower with friends on Friday, August 18, when she suddenly collapsed around 10:30pm.

Urgently, she was transported to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, where medical efforts managed to revive her temporarily. Regrettably, her condition worsened and she succumbed to her illness in the early hours of Sunday.

“At the time of the incident, everything was arranged. The wedding was planned, festivities were in motion, and numerous guests were preparing to share in our joy,” revealed a sister-in-law of the deceased, speaking to Ogbomoso Online. This disclosure occurred at the family residence in Caretaker area, in the presence of the father of the deceased, Evangelist Moses Oyedotun.

The sister-in-law continued, “We had all the provisions ready – the wedding staples were prepared, and we were ready to go. It was a shocking turn of events that the ceremony never came to fruition as the bride was tragically taken from us.”

Evangelist Oyedotun, Rebecca’s father and a member of C&S Reformed Church in Isale-High School area, recounted the unfolding of events: “Everything was proceeding smoothly until around 10:30 p.m. on Friday when she was with her friends celebrating the bridal shower, and she suddenly collapsed.”

He further recounted, “We swiftly rushed her to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso. After some time, she was revived and seemed stable. At dawn on Saturday, a nurse conveyed the message from a doctor that she would be briefly discharged to attend the ceremony for the purpose of signing the marriage documents before being returned for ongoing treatment.”

Evangelist Oyedotun continued, “However, her condition took a turn for the worse, and she was confined to her hospital bed. We were then advised to take her to Bowen University Teaching Hospital for further examinations, which we promptly did. Her husband, upon learning the dire situation, fainted and later wept uncontrollably, saying, ‘Let me take her away.’ Throughout that Saturday, we remained by her side in the hospital.”

Despite efforts, Rebecca’s condition did not improve, and she tragically passed away Sunday morning.

Regrettably, many guests who were unaware of the unfortunate events proceeded to the church for the wedding, only to find the venue empty and devoid of the anticipated celebration.
