According to investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, there are allegations that Nollywood actress Mimi Orjiekwe has been arrested by the Nigerian police in connection with an alleged N700 million fraud case.
In a tweet from her official Twitter handle, Kemi Olunloyo stated that the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Nigerian police in Ikoyi, Lagos State, had arrested and detained Mimi Orjiekwe over the alleged fraud amounting to N700 million.
Kemi Olunloyo further claimed that a businessman named Michael Diongoli had filed a petition with the Ikoyi Law Enforcement Police Department, seeking assistance in locating and apprehending Mimi. According to the petition, Mimi had failed to fulfill her contractual obligation of delivering interior decoration items.
In her tweet, Kemi Olunloyo expressed that it is a common occurrence in Nigeria for celebrities to receive funds for projects and then abscond with the money.
In a subsequent update, Kemi Olunloyo stated that Mimi Orjiekwe had been arrested and was currently being detained in Ikoyi, Lagos, regarding the N700 million fraud allegations.
