Renowned veteran actor Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abija, recently received a heartfelt gift from a car shipping company in Lagos. The actor’s happiness was evident as he beamed with joy during the ceremony. In recognition of his remarkable achievements, he was presented with a brand new Toyota Matrix.
The event, where the car was officially handed over to Abija, was graced by several popular comic actors, including Jigan Babaoja, Mr Latin, Itele, and other notable personalities from the Nollywood industry.
It is worth noting that Abija, being one of the pioneers of indigenous Yoruba movies, had recently garnered attention due to his challenging living conditions. Actor Jigan had appealed for support on behalf of Abija, recognizing him as one of the individuals who paved the way for the current successful actors in the industry.
It is through initiatives like “Let Appreciate Our Legend,” led by comedian Camo, that Abija’s situation gained more visibility in the social media space. Sadly, Abija’s present condition is far from ideal, and transportation has become a significant challenge for him.
Abija’s acting career began in 1972, alongside the late popular actor Ogungbe. According to Abija, he no longer has the strength to continue due to the lack of transportation means.
The gift of a new car brings hope and relief to Abija, symbolizing the recognition of his contributions to the film industry and providing him with much-needed mobility.
