Renowned actress Funke Akindele recently addressed a concern regarding her colleague, Timini Egbuson’s behavior on a movie set, cautioning him about his wrong habits.
In a video shared on Funke Akindele’s Instagram story, she can be seen reprimanding Timini Egbuson for excessively using his phone while on set. Akindele emphasized that such behavior displayed a lack of professionalism, reminding Egbuson of the importance of maintaining focus during work.
Egbuson, in response, clarified that he was using his phone for prop-related purposes. However, Akindele’s warning serves as a reminder to uphold professional standards while on set.
Earlier, Funke Akindele also faced a controversy when Alesh Sanni petitioned the organizers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) regarding her movie, “Battle on Buka Street.” Despite being the highest-grossing film in Nigeria at the time, Akindele did not win an award at the 2023 AMVCA.
Sanni claimed that the low ratings for Akindele’s movie were due to its high cinema ticket prices, which made it inaccessible to many viewers. However, the availability of the movie on Prime Video allowed more people to appreciate it and acknowledge the accolades it received from reviews.
Sanni praised Akindele and Mercy Johnson for their exceptional performances in the film and expressed hope for better organization from the AMVCA in the future. Akindele responded to Sanni’s petition with appreciation, expressing her gratitude.
This petition was not the first controversy surrounding the 2023 AMVCA, as several individuals criticized the organizers for allegedly overshadowing certain celebrities during the award show.
