Joke Silva reveals that her husband, Olu Jacobs, is no longer with us

Joke Silva, the well-known Nollywood actress, has shared her heartfelt feelings about the impact of her husband Olu Jacobs’ illness on their marriage.

During an interview with media personality Nancy Isime, Joke candidly revealed that her husband’s declining health has placed a strain on their relationship.

She acknowledged that it hasn’t been an easy journey as the husband she once knew is no longer fully present for her. However, she expressed her continued love for the man who is now by her side.

Joke Silva mentioned that there came a point of acceptance for her, recognizing that the current reality is that the person she married is only present about 80% of the time.

Nevertheless, she emphasized how Olu Jacobs was always there for her and their children when he was in good health. She described him as an incredible father and an amazing husband.

“It hasn’t been easy. There came a point of acceptance for me that everything happening is reality and that the person I married is now only present about 80% of the time.

But the thing is, when he was there, he was an incredible father to our children and an amazing husband. He was practically my best friend.

The husband I once knew is no longer fully present for me, but I still love this man who stands by my side.”

Joke Silva speaks out about Olu Jacobs’ health condition after a period of silence

In a revealing interview in 2021, Joke Silva shared insights into the health condition of her husband, Olu Jacobs.

The revelation followed actor Jide Kosoko’s commendation of Joke Silva for her unwavering support and care for Olu Jacobs, despite his prolonged illness.

During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, monitored by Kemi Filani, Joke Silva disclosed that Olu is battling dementia, specifically a condition known as dementia with Lewy bodies. This degenerative disease affects the brain, similar to Parkinson’s disease, causing difficulties for the individual. It has been a challenging journey for both Olu and their family members, as he struggles to comprehend the situation.

Joke Silva expressed her gratitude for their experiences over the past few years while acknowledging the hardships they have faced. She openly admitted missing the old version of her husband and the joy of working together.

“We have gone through some challenging times recently where I wished I had the old you by my side, so I wouldn’t have to face these trials alone. But we are grateful for the moments of clarity… I miss the times we worked together!”
