Mercy Johnson Okojie, the beloved Nollywood superstar, laid her father, NWO Johnson Ametuo (Daniel D.A. Johnson), to rest in a poignant ceremony. Following his recent passing in April, a Christian wake-keeping event was held at her father’s residence in Lagos on Friday, June 2, 2023. Subsequently, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, the final burial rites were conducted to bid him a final farewell.
Surrounded by her loved ones, including family, friends, and notable celebrities such as Joke Silva, Juliet Ibrahim, and Yvonne Jegede, among others, the Nollywood superstar received an outpouring of support and heartfelt tributes as they came together to pay their final respects. Their presence served as a testament to the deep impact and widespread admiration her father had on the community.
In a poignant Instagram post, Mercy Johnson Okojie shared her heartfelt sentiments, stating, “What we once enjoyed deeply, we can never lose. I will keep the memories close to my heart.” Her words reflect the enduring love and cherished moments she shared with her late father, Daniel Johnson.
