During a recent interview with media personality Chude, celebrated Nigerian actress Shaffy Bello opened up about the factors that led to the end of her 25-year marriage.
In a candid conversation, Shaffy revealed that her ex-husband, Mr. Akinrimisi, resided in the United States while she remained in Nigeria. The geographical distance between them became a significant source of discomfort for her.
While she acknowledged her former husband’s qualities as a good father, Shaffy ultimately reached a point where she realized that she desired more from the relationship. Despite her efforts to travel back and forth to meet him, she recognized that if she truly wanted to pursue her aspirations, sacrifices would be necessary. Unfortunately, the challenges posed by the distance between them took a toll on their marriage.
Shaffy expressed her perspective, stating, “He [my ex-husband] was a good father to his children. But I reached a point where I wanted more, and constantly traveling back and forth was not sustainable. The distance between us in the USA and Nigeria became an obstacle that didn’t help the situation.”
