Actress Juliana Olayode Publicly Apologizes to Funke Akindele for Past Mistakes
In a heartfelt and sincere gesture, actress Juliana Olayode has publicly expressed her apology to her senior colleague, Funke Akindele, for the pain she caused her in the past.
Olayode shared her journey to fame, acknowledging the incredible opportunity she received to portray a friend and co-lead alongside Funke Akindele in the immensely popular comedy television series, “Jenifa’s Diary.” She recognized that this role thrust her into the limelight without having to endure the same struggles as many other actors.
However, Olayode openly admitted that her lack of industry experience began to take its toll on her, especially with an unaware guardian who sent an email on her behalf, the contents of which she was unaware of until recently.
In her heartfelt apology, Olayode expressed deep remorse for hurting her senior colleague and acknowledged the pain caused by the email that was sent without her knowledge.
She wrote: “As a teenager, my mainstream career in the entertainment industry started in a place where many people could only dream of, and it was nothing short of a miracle. In my case, God’s mercy and undeserved favor were evident. I entered the industry by playing a friend and co-lead alongside a screen goddess who had put in decades of hard work and unrivaled creativity, even at that time. God used Aunty Funke Akindele to put me in the limelight. It was a shocking experience for me, especially at such a tender age when I had just finished secondary school. The level of fame I attained from playing Toyosi in ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ was too overwhelming for me to comprehend.”
She went on to explain that her lack of industry knowledge, coupled with an uninformed guardian who didn’t understand how the entertainment industry worked, led to various mistakes. Olayode acknowledged the email that was sent to Scene One TV, the producers of the sitcom, without her knowledge of its contents until recently.
Olayode expressed her sincere apologies to Funke Akindele, admitting her immaturity and apologizing for hurting her and the impact of the email that was sent. She requested forgiveness for her past childish mistakes and expressed deep remorse for everything.
She concluded by stating her eternal love for Funke Akindele and emphasized that her intent was not to seek help or intervention from others to mend their relationship. Olayode shared that she has personally met Funke Akindele, who has forgiven her, embraced her, prayed for her, and even cooked for her, just like in the good old days. She expressed her gratitude and love for everyone and hinted at better days ahead.
