Nollywood actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, has issued a sincere apology in response to the intense criticism he faced for neglecting his children.
In recent days, the media has extensively covered the actor’s treatment of his second wife and their four children, drawing widespread attention.
Reports surfaced that Itele faced severe backlash after images of the modest one-room apartment where his second wife and children reside circulated online.
Gistlover, known for consistently exposing the actor’s actions towards his family, took it upon themselves to visit the residence. They showed support by offering love and generous gifts, showering his wife with warm embraces and providing a substantial amount of money to support the children.
The photos shared on social media of the family living in substandard conditions surprised and angered many, considering the actor’s prominence and wealth.
As news of the situation spread, Nigerians expressed their outrage, criticizing him for mistreating his family.
Itele, speaking through his management, pleaded with Gistlover for forgiveness and promised to change. In a leaked chat, he explained that he has been facing significant medical challenges that have drained his finances. He revealed undergoing various tests over the past three months, which have taken a toll on him.
His management humbly appealed to the blog for mercy and assured them of Itele’s commitment to transformation.
Gistlover shared that the actor was in tears during their conversation, vowing to provide a monthly allowance and promised to secure better accommodation for his family. He also promised to send receipts to verify his financial support.

I felt weak seeing a grown man crying. He acknowledged his mistakes and is ready to change. He also promised to send enough money to them every month and provide us with receipts. He mentioned that he will address their accommodation issue as well. He shared that he has been seriously ill and was only posting pictures to hide his condition from the public. As it stands now, he is struggling and depressed. I insisted that he sends me the money this month and receipts, as I will need to post them publicly. When he fulfills his promise, we will publicly acknowledge and praise him. He pleaded that we do not post his voice because he was genuinely in tears. Some of his team members also reached out, and we will share some of their receipts. We are glad that he is now willing to take responsibility for his children and, most importantly, take care of his family,” Gistlover stated.
