Late Iyiola Lateef Yusuf’s Family Unaware of His House in Osogbo, Discover Change in Appearance after Burial
The head of Late Iyiola Lateef Yusuf’s family revealed to BBC Yoruba that they had no knowledge of whether he owned a house in Osogbo town. However, they had bid him farewell with a kiss before his burial, only to notice a change in his appearance afterwards.
BBC News Yoruba contacted the Ile Fetu Ata house in the Okanla area of Osogbo town, where Murphy Afolabi, the deceased actor, hailed from. Reports stated that Murphy Afolabi had promised his family that he would rebuild their ancestral home after celebrating his 49th birthday.
Initially, both Murphy Afolabi’s family and the residents of Osogbo town had made preparations for his funeral. However, they later changed their decision and proceeded to bury him in the Adamo area of Ikorodu in Lagos State.
Following the untimely demise of their son, the family convened a meeting at the House of Members in Osogbo to discuss the necessary arrangements for the burial.
Murphy Afolabi was born to Oloye Fabunmi Afolabi, who had Arab ancestry and hailed from Osogbo in Osun State.
According to information obtained from BBC, it was reported that Murphy Afolabi had visited Father Ifayemi Elebuibon to learn the art of cooking a traditional dish called Agboojha. Subsequently, he returned to teach Father Ifayemi Elebuibon the perfected recipe, as explained by the family.
Father Murphy Afolabi lived an impressive 124 years before his passing.
