Olaide Oyedeji, a Nigerian actress, recently responded to a heartfelt prayer from a fan on Instagram.
During an interaction on one of Olaide’s posts, the fan expressed their wish for God to bring back the late actor Murphy Afolabi.
The fan’s comment read: “God give us Murphy and take Olaide.”
In her response, the actress wrote: “May your wishes for me come true as you desire, and I pray for it to happen soon enough. Amen 🙏
@wf_tunde_moore, please join me in praying for him to receive what he wishes for me. 🙏”
This fan comment has sparked outrage on social media, with many people criticizing the fan for making such a wish.
One fan wrote, “I still don’t understand how the human mind works. I’m sure 95% of us didn’t even know this man celebrated his birthday a few days ago, yet everyone is attaching themselves to him now that he has passed away… In the end, we all will face death. May none of us experience an untimely death, in Jesus’ name. (Amen) Rest in peace to the deceased.”
Another person commented, “I cannot fathom wishing death upon anyone. What’s wrong with people? We are quick to judge others without realizing that we are not saints either. Regardless of anything, nobody deserves to die. We will all face death eventually. Please stop wishing ill upon others because they might have a purer heart than you, and your evil wishes may come back to haunt you immediately.”
Another comment read, “How could you say such a thing on someone’s page? Can’t you see that she’s a mother? Come on, try to have a conscience, even if you have to borrow one! @officialolaideoyedeji, may you live as long as God has planned for you and your family. Amen.”
Murphy Afolabi, a popular Yoruba actor, passed away on May 14th, 2023, after collapsing at his house in Ikorodu.
