The Guinness World Record has provided an explanation in response to queries regarding the absence of coverage or discussion concerning chef Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon.
Naijalegit reports that renowned Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, recently achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time. The previous record was held by Indian Chef Lata Tondon, who cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.
At the time of writing this report, Hilda Baci had already cooked for 91 hours and was still going strong. Initially, her goal was to surpass Lata Tondon’s record, which she accomplished at approximately 7:46 am on Monday morning. However, she didn’t stop there and continued to push further, aiming to cook for more than 96 hours.
As the renowned chef carries on with her cooking endeavors, Nigerians continue to gather around in support. In her live video, one can witness people cheering loudly, expressing their immense pride in her achievement. It’s worth noting that over the past four days, her cooking hackathon has brought together Nigerians from various walks of life, who have congregated at her cooking station.
In response to the cook-a-thon, the Guinness World Records took to social media to address the situation, stating, “We are aware of this remarkable record attempt. However, before officially confirming a record, we must thoroughly review all the evidence presented.”
The Guinness World Records, commonly referred to as the Guinness Book of Records, is a comprehensive reference book documenting extraordinary achievements and milestones in the human and natural world.
The Guinness World Records, initially published in 1955 by the Guinness Brewery in Ireland, has gained tremendous popularity over the years. It encompasses a diverse array of records, including the smallest and largest, the fastest and slowest, and the most peculiar and extraordinary achievements.
To be included in the Guinness World Records, individuals or groups must provide evidence to the Guinness World Records team and undergo a verification process. Once a record is validated, it is officially recognized and documented in the book as a world record.
Regarding the Guinness World Record, Hilda Baci shared her thoughts with reporters, stating, “The journey towards the cook-a-thon began five years ago. It has been one of my greatest aspirations, and I am thrilled that I took the courageous step to embark on this adventure. I have mentally prepared myself for this challenge, and I am proud to finally undertake it.”
She further expressed, “The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to showcase the positive stories that arise from Africa through the meals we create. This endeavor serves as proof of the strength that young people can exhibit when provided with the right platform and support. I eagerly anticipate the support of people worldwide in accomplishing this remarkable feat.”
