Baba Ijesha, the renowned Nollywood actor, whose real name is Olarenwaju James, is currently mourning the loss of his father, James Akin Omiyinka. His father passed away at the age of 95, bringing immense sorrow to Baba Ijesha and his family. The news of the elder Omiyinka’s passing was shared by Yomi Fabiyi, a close friend and colleague of the actor, through an Instagram post on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Yomi expressed his deepest condolences to Baba Ijesha and his family, offering prayers that the spirit of the deceased would forever remain with his son. He also expressed his hope that Baba Ijesha’s father had lived a virtuous life and had found peace with his creator.
Additionally, Yomi extended his prayers to those who had caused misfortune to Baba Ijesha. This reference likely alluded to the recent scandal in which the actor was embroiled. Although it remains unclear whether this incident had any connection to the passing of Baba Ijesha’s father, the actor and his family would undoubtedly appreciate the support and well-wishes during this challenging time.

It is worth noting that in July 2022, Baba Ijesha was sentenced to jail by the court for the sexual assault of a minor.
Yomi wrote: “I offer my heartfelt condolences to you, BABA IJESHA, on the loss of your father. May your father’s spirit forever remain by your side, fighting for you someday. Baba lived a commendable life.
“I pray for the souls of those who orchestrated your unfortunate situation, those who manipulated your profession to lure you into acting alongside an underage individual whose age they falsely claimed. They failed to provide any substantial evidence of the alleged 14-year claim, such as a birth certificate, the mother’s testimony, or medical examination.
“They propagated numerous lies and shielded the actual perpetrators who had been engaging in inappropriate acts with the victim for an extended period (Damola Adekola and a security personnel known as Okele), for reasons known only to them and the authorities. They also withheld the original CCTV footage from the court, impeding the full revelation of the truth, and so on.
“We will continue to pray for you, and we hope that someday the integrity of the judiciary system will be restored in this matter. Stay strong, senior man.”
