Seun Kuti, the Nigerian singer and musician, has addressed the circulating video showing him physically assaulting a Nigerian police officer, causing him to trend on various social media platforms.
In the viral video, Seun Kuti is seen engaging in a confrontation with the policeman at Third Mainland Bridge.
The cause of the incident remains uncertain at this time, although the video’s uploader claimed it occurred on May 13th.
Taking to his Instagram story, Seun Kuti has now spoken out, alleging that the policeman attempted to harm him and his family.
As the son of the late legendary singer Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti claimed to possess evidence supporting his allegations but emphasized that he is not seeking attention.
He further disclosed that the policeman has apologized to him, and he has chosen not to pursue legal action.
“He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof, but I am not seeking attention. He has apologized, and I have agreed not to press charges. Please mind your own business to ensure the officer does not lose his job.”
