Talented actress, director, and producer Bisi Komolafe made a big impact on the Nigerian film industry. She was one of five children born on February 27th, 1986, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The early years of Bisi’s education were spent in Ibadan, and she later attended Lagos State University to earn a degree in business administration.
In 2008, Bisi made her acting debut in the film Igboro Ti Daru, which launched her into the spotlight. Bolode O’ku, Asiri Owo, and Ebute were among the movies in which she later appeared and had lead roles. She was renowned for her adaptability and capacity to convincingly depict her personalities.
Bisi worked as an actress as well as a producer and director. Her film production credits include Latonwa, Eja Tutu, and Oka. She had a strong love for writing tales that addressed societal problems and sparked constructive change.
As seen by the numerous nominations and accolades Bisi garnered throughout the course of her career, her diligence and commitment to her art were recognized. She was nominated for two Best of Nollywood Awards—the “Revelation of the Year” category in 2009 and the “Best Lead Actress in a Yoruba Film” category in 2012.

Due to complications from pregnancy, Bisi Komolafe passed suddenly on December 31st, 2012, at the age of 26. Her memory endures in the fact that she is sorely missed.
